Classic Smooth Jazz

Below, you’ll find a playlist of songs Martin considers classic smooth jazz.

Martin has featured some of his favorite artists, such as Acoustic Alchemy, The Rippingtons, Lee Ritenour, and Marion Meadows. He also has included music by legends in the genre, like Grover Washington, Jr., George Benson, Larry Carlton, David Sanborn, and Earl Klugh.

Martin especially likes “A Little Bumpin'” by Ritenour. This tune pays tribute to Wes Montgomery and pays homage to his “Bumpin’ On Sunset,” which is featured in this playlist. Martin also likes this song by Ritenour because it is one of the first songs that helped him love smooth jazz like he does today.

“Winelight,” by Washington, Jr., is on the same album of the popular song “Just The Two Of Us” with Bill Withers.

“Mr. Chow” is considered to be arguably one of the most eclectic songs by Acoustic Alchemy. Many have described this song as being “Chinese Reggae.”
