Contemporary jazz artist Boney James appears on the cover of Saxophone Life‘s February 2016 issue.
James appears wearing the very outfit he features on the CD packaging of his latest record futuresoul. He is decked in all-black — sporting a matching dress coat, pants, and shoes. A few white stars emblazon a black tee shirt he wears underneath his coat, giving contrast to the rest of his outfit. James coolly tops it off with his fedora, a style of hat he has sported for years.
The multi-Grammy-award-nominated saxophonist shared his featured pose with fans on his Facebook page this past Sunday evening:
Saxophone Life is a monthly magazine that interviews professional sax players and shares tips for amateur players. Each month, a different sax player appears on the cover. The magazine has featured other well-known saxophone recording artists, such as Dave Koz and Candy Dulfer.
Not only has James graced magazine covers, photo shoots, concerts, and annual festivals and cruises with his iconic image, he has also enjoyed chart success like his peers in smooth jazz. James charted two number ones for Billboard’s “Smooth Jazz Songs” this past year with “Vinyl” and “Drumline” from futuresoul.
He also has earned four Grammy Award nominations during his career.
